Tortellini
Hi, I'm Jackie. My husband is an avid food blogger, you may have know him as Year on the grill and is now Inspired by eRecipeCards.com. Which by the way, he owes all to me since I gave him Christmas presents which consisted of grilling classes and meat smoking classes. That's all it took and he's hooked. . . but I digress.
I'm blogging to prove that my dishes are just as good, some better and most much easier than his. I have a day job and not as much time to devote to cooking. I love homestyle cooking with "farm" food and lots of vegetables. I'm excited to be a blogger so I can comment on the blogs and am looking forward to your feedback.
One of my favorite recipes, given to me by my favorite cousin's wife, who was a new bride at the time. Now, they are empty-nesters whose son is in medical school and daughter is in college on a softball scholarship. Very few ingredients and simple to make, yet delicious and nearly foolproof.
1 pkg tortellini
1 small package grated Parmesan cheese (or any combination of whatever cheeses I have)
1 cup of Half and Half
1/2 stick of butter
frozen peas, I use 1/2 package
chunks of ham
Prepare pasta according to package directions. For sauce, cook butter and Half and Half over low heat. Add cheese, peas and ham. Pour over noodles.
This is the first dish I made when my husband and I were dating. A lovers spat ensued and he dumped his entire plate into the garbage. He's not a smart man.
There is more to that story, but that's plenty for now.
I plan to so a post a week, so see you next week!
